I thought I\'d give us all a little more privacy and removed the member names from the \'Who\'s Online\' display bar at the bottom of the main forums page.
(Ok, ok...I was playing with a new hack I wrote and it worked...)
It now only displays the number of guests and members here within the last ten minutes (I changed that from 15 as well-a little more realtime-).:)
If you\'d like the names display back, let me know...
BTW, you can now type :/r to get the rolleyes smiley.[p][p]

By all mean, put them back !
Privacy ?  Its not our real name, no one knows where we live. So what is the problem ?
At least, say Coldmoon is there, i want to know !
This is how i have learned to know him.
Don\'t really know who he is, where he lives.  That is not important.  When he is there, i want to know.

Actually, I agree with you completely, Mickey. I see no harm in having member names displayed. In fact, It\'s a feature I\'d like to see on UBB boards as well.
Like I said, I was testing a hack I wrote, and it worked.;)
I\'ll gladly replace the names.:)
Thanks.

Your profile says Seattle, i believe.
Your addy is in U.K,
For all i know you could be in Miami.
I don\'t know what you do for a living, or if you have a cute sister i could meet. ( if you do send HER ADDY ;) )

Sorry, no sister. Plenty of cats, but no other family than that.
BTW, you\'re welcome.:)
I really do prefer the names-I was just bored and thought I\'d write up a couple of hacks I\'d been considering to see if they\'d work...;)
I think I\'ll leave the time tick alone though. I like 10 mins. better than 15, and 5\'s too little for the purpose it serves...

Keep it going Doc.  I like the names there too, irregardless of what Vamp thinks over at Becky.  Most of us aren\'t using our real names anyway, so I don\'t see any privacy issues.

Neither do I. Like I posted over there, the discussion gave me an idea on how to remove it, and I just had to try...
I\'m working on guest posting now-maybe in a week or two...
Don\'t worry, the names will stay.:)

I\'m not so sure even Vamp knows want he wants.
He\'s the one that says it\'s a cool feature.  That it would be nice to see the names of who\'s on.
So i suppose we should show everyone but him, is that it ?  Well it doesn\'t work that way.

Hey Mickey, I think you may be mistaken.:(
Aviator originally started the thread with the request-Vamp only posted once with a negative response to the suggestion.

Just as a side note guys, I also found a way to hack the Active Users function out of the code as well, but rest assured that I won\'t.;)

Doc, you are right about Aviator starting the thread and Vamp being negative about it.
But, if Vamp is so concerned about security and privacy, i\'m not so sure he should have pictures of every member of his family hanging around the net !
