Dear A-SAP,

Over the last few weeks, members and even administrators of A-SAP have been posting inappropiate posts on my forums and preventing me from taking moderating positions. This seems somewhat different from the image A-SAP potray of proffessionals.

if this harrasment does not stop, I will proceed to block every single member of A-SAP from my forums.

Regards,
Jimbob1989

How on earth are they preventing you from taking moderating postions on your own forum? that just makes no sense.

i see a Jimbob1989 as a banned member on Wilders,  still a member at TAZ and still an admin on 12 noon and still a mod on http://www.xtremecomputing.co.uk/forum ...so i am still not seeing a problem since i doubt he owns Wilders...

In my opinion JimbobB is just not happy unless he is in the middle of a controversy..

Maybe I can shed some light.

http://www.theadminzone.com/forums/showthr...p?threadid=8139

Its a topic that seems to have been removed at that site now.
I wonder why.

===============

I saw a topic at subs site by beetlejuice, where this person had been banned. Thought I would find out why.

Found that topic above where this Jimbob had 'requested' paid mod powers at that site.

He had listed various websites in his resume to support his application, two of which were ASAP sites, then when I checked he had been banned at both of them.

I posting in that topic to correct the impression that he was a member of good standing at wilders and subs sites.

I made no other comment, just that at those two sites within his resume that they were inaccurate to the extent that he had been banned.

Ok...that makes a bit more sense.  I was under the impression that HE OWNED the forums rather then was a member trying to become a mod.

IMO  the members of ASAP did the right thing.  We as a group would not want someone who is NOT a ASAP member in good standing using ASAP as a means of obtaining a postion, especially a PAID postion.  Just as i am sure the Wilders and Subs would not want him using them either in that manor if he is not a member in good standing.

Jimbob, to falsely say you are a member of a group is not only dishonest but lends you little to no creditablity.  Many online forums do check these things.  Just like here when membership is requested the requestor is "vetted".  Those that have been thru this process that it very seriously since it is in places to ensure the members know what they are doing and what they are talking about.

I would argue that what those members did was exactly what ASAP is about.

Quote
ASAP's goals are:
To ensure a high standard and quality of security support no matter where you seek help.
To promote the products used to keep your computer clean and safe in an equal and fair manner.
To ensure that end users are not affected by so called "product wars" and unfair marketing tactics which have plagued several industries in recent years.

ASAP ensures that quality support and assistance will be freely available - knock one of the support networks out and another will pick it up immediately. In addition, pooled resources permit the ability to provide support redundancy, thereby adding an additional layer of protection against Internet based threats.

If you see the ASAP logo or banner used by a site, bulletin board, or person, you can be assured that you're getting the best support and assistance possible, as the combined efforts of all ASAP members are involved in helping everyone, and ASAP won't give up until your important investment is safe and clean.

the two bolded sections are what these members were trying to ensure.

agian this is only my opinion...

I do have some of the email copies of the posts at the forum if required.

I do not have all of them, only the ones after my post, and not why the topic was removed, although I can guess.

Some are at my work location (in my hands now), some at my home (if I kept them there - unsure) - so it would take me a little while to compile to be able to post here.

The topic was removed as the forum staff along with myself did not feel that A-SAP was at liberty to use the forum just to slag me off, ChrisRLG being one of the A-SAP members involved in this thread. It was obvious that the 2 A-SAP members were not participating in the forum other than causing trouble for me.

without seeing it i cant comment fully, but  saying you are not a member in good standing on forums you list in your online resume isnt slagging...its called telling the truth and a corrective action. thumbsup
