I came across this software while looking for antivirus/antispyware programes for Ubuntu and thought it could be of interest to list members. It is so described on its 'about' page:

ClamWin is a Free Antivirus program for Microsoft Windows 98/Me/2000/XP and 2003.
ClamWin Free Antivirus comes with an easy installer and open source code. It features:

    * High detection rates for viruses and spyware;
    * Scanning Scheduler;
    * Automatic downloads of regularly updated Virus Database.
    * Standalone virus scanner and right-click menu integration to Microsoft Windows Explorer;
    * Addin to Microsoft Outlook to remove virus-infected attachments automatically.

The latest version of Clamwin Free Antivirus is 0.91.2
It does not include an on-access real-time scanner. You need to manually scan a file in order to detect a virus or spyware.

It can be downloaded from:

ClamWin Free Antivirus 0.93

 Saturday, 19 April 2008
This release addresses a security vulnerability in ClamAV engine and adds significant improvements:

    * Considerably faster scanning speed
    * More intelligent database updates with online connection status checking
    * Improved archived files handling.

Virus signature database file structure has changed therefore this update is available as a full installation only.

One of the components (w9xpopen) in the earlier version of Clamwin was not working
and therefore updating virus db did not work.

But the current version of Clamwin (0.94) works smoothly with 98se and after installing
it I have experienced no problems.

Might work with other versions but I have not tested it.

Can be downloaded from:
