Anyone besides me getting tired of manually blocking IPs/ranges thru iptables?

Has anyone here tried this? http://www.pettingers.org/code/sshblack.html

Looks interesting but I'd rather hear from others about their experience before trying it out on my own. Smiley

If I can't find someone with experience with it, perhaps I'll just wait untill we have a fresh box up to try it on.

If it works right, it sure would save a lot of time & effort.

It's awesome... Takes just a little configuring, but you can shut attackers out after two incorrect ssh attempts, and the whitelist prevents you from shutting yourself out.

I HIGHLY recommend it. I was getting sick of seeing so many ssh breakin attempts, even though I turned off password access & such. I knew the chances of people getting in were infintessimal, but I wanted them to know that I was watching... So two attempts, and BINGO... My site disappears to them!

Thx for the response. I've got it in use on a box now and I believe you are right with every word. It definitely makes a noticeable change in the logs. Thx again.
