About MadDoktor2
What this site is
MadDoktor2 publishes practical, plain-English guides to cleaning up and securing Windows PCs: removing malware, spyware, adware and browser hijackers, understanding ransomware, and the everyday privacy and security habits that keep a machine out of trouble. We write for ordinary people dealing with a real problem — not just for security professionals, and not to sell fear.
The domain has a long history connected to malware-removal help (see the heritage page), but to be clear, this is an independent reconstruction: we are not the old forum or community, and we make no claim to be.
What we cover
- Malware removal. Viruses, trojans, worms, rootkits and browser hijackers — how to spot them and how to remove them step by step.
- Ransomware & spyware. How they work, the warning signs, what genuinely helps recover, and how to reduce the risk.
- Windows security & privacy. The right free tools, sensible hardening, account protection, and habits that keep a PC clean afterwards.
Editorial methodology
- Honest, never invented. No fake test results, fabricated statistics, awards or user numbers. Claims come from named, checkable sources.
- No fearmongering. We explain how likely a threat really is, what helps, and what does not — a free built-in tool often beats an expensive suite you don't need.
- Followable steps. Guides are written to be usable on a real, possibly infected, Windows PC, with a way to confirm the machine is clean afterwards.
- Honest limitations. Every guide states what a method cannot do. See our full editorial charter.
