The history of maddoktor2.com

If you followed an old link or bookmark to get here, this page explains honestly what this domain used to be and what it is now.

What this domain used to be

For many years, maddoktor2.com was associated with helping people clean up infected Windows PCs — a corner of the early-2000s web where users were walked through removing spyware, adware and malware step by step. That help resource is no longer running, and the domain eventually lapsed.

What this site is now

This site is an independent reconstruction. We rebuilt maddoktor2.com as a fresh, modern resource on the same subject — malware removal, anti-spyware, and PC security and privacy — because the need it served hasn't gone away.

To be completely clear: we are not the original community, forum, team or any of the people who ran the old site, and we don't claim to be. We have no affiliation with them and we make no claim to inherit their reputation or membership in any group. Everything published here is our own independent work, written under the rules in our editorial charter.

Why keep the domain alive

Rather than let a domain with a long history of helping people simply disappear, we chose to build something useful on it again. Old inbound links that pointed at forum or index pages now lead here, to current guides, instead of dead ends.

Where to start

Our guides cover the practical questions: how to tell if a PC is infected, how to remove malware and browser hijackers, what ransomware and spyware really are, and how to keep a Windows machine clean afterwards.
